Jami Templeton is a world-renowned performer, vocal technician, coach, adjudicator, and an award-winning songwriter. She was featured as Bobby Valentino's voice teacher on BET's television show, "Played By Fame", and as a judge for the Los Angeles and CA State rounds of the ABC television show, "Karaoke Battle USA".
At her local teaching studio in Bellingham, WA, her students consistently earn superior ratings in solo/ensemble competitions, win leading roles in musicals, solos in their choirs, and scholarships in voice and theater to top universities. Jami believes in passion, heart and excellence.
Students include Zack Montana (Disney's NBT), Florence LaRue (Fifth Dimension), Abraham McDonald (Island Def Jam Recording Artist), have toured with Christina Aguilera, Keyshia Cole, Eric Benet, Prince, Bobby Valentino, Idina Menzel, and have been seen in leading roles on Broadway. Groups that Jami has developed have gone on to work with Grammy award winning producers, and major record labels.
Jami studied vocal performance at Arizona State University and Manhattan School of Music and has received nods for her vocal excellence from the highly esteemed Metropolitan Opera. She has performed lead roles in opera, musical theater, and countless solo recitals. Her passion for writing and recording brought her from NYC to Los Angeles where she broadened her singing and writing palate to pop, gospel, hip hop and r&b.
Jami Templeton is also an esteemed songwriter. Fantasia Burrino recently performed Jami's original song "Fall In" in the musical production "Soul Kittens Cabaret" which was produced by Nicci Gilbert (from the group Brownstone) and released nation-wide through Walmart, Amazon and Target. Jami, along with co-writers Jonathan George, G'harah "PK" Degeddingseze, and Sarah Lonsert, won the USA Songwriting Competition Grand Prize with their song "Dancing Through Life" in 2009, and was again nominated in the world music category in 2010 for her song "Il Sogno". She has also collaborated with members of The Writing Camp ("Platinum Hit",Beyonce, Pussycat Dolls, Enrique Iglasias, Sean Kingston) as well as Grammy-nominated producing team Dre and Vidal (Michael Jackson, Usher, Alicia Keys)
